Emmanuel Butare is a Partner one of the founding Partners of MRB Attorneys. He holds an LLB (Hons) from the National University of Rwanda, LLM from Ottawa University, Ontario-Canada. He is a Fellow (FCIArb) with London Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in legal Practice from the Institute of Legal Practice and Development (ILPD), and a Certificate in Global Arbitration by Hamline School of Law in conjunction with Queen Mary University.
He has worked as an assistant lecturer at the Law School National University of Rwanda, a Training officer in the Rwandan Judiciary, and Principal State Attorney in the Office of the Attorney General and Minister of Justice of Rwanda.
He is a member of the Rwanda Bar Association, East African Law Society (EALS), London Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Kigali International Arbitration Centre (KIAC). He served as a Board Member, Prime Insurance; Vice President, EALS; Chairman of Insolvency Administrators’ Board in Rwanda. He currently serves as a Director on the Equity Bank Rwanda Board of Directors.
